The Ego...

I will be honest guys, I hate this word!

As artists, our job is to create. We express ourselves through paintings, sculptures, novels, and many other means. But even though creating art is what we love to do, it’s also one of the most challenging activities we can pursue.

Why?

Because when you’re an artist, there’s no hiding behind anyone else or let your insecurities stop you from producing your best work.

In order to succeed as an artist, you must be willing to tackle some serious challenges head-on. Your ego might be one of the biggest obstacles you’ll ever face as an artist. In this blog post, we'll examine what the ego is and why it's such a common obstacle for artists.

You’ve probably heard the phrase “Know thyself” before.

It’s a pretty old saying that has been passed down from one generation to the next for almost as long as we can remember.

This is because it’s extremely important to know who you are and what makes you tick, but it’s much more difficult than it sounds. In fact, most people spend their entire life trying to figure out who they are and what drives them without ever fully accomplishing that goal.

We all have things about ourselves that we like, things that we don’t like, things we wish weren’t true, and things we feel insecure about.

These little self-reflections are often what drives us in our lives — whether it be toward success or failure — and yet so many people never take the time to look inside themselves and understand how they truly feel about themselves on an instinctive level.

As an accelerating world creates opportunities for dynamic individuals, the pressures to succeed grow as well.

The ability to think on one’s feet challenge the status quo, and pivot in response to change are all key attributes of successful people. But these skills are secondary to your willingness to confront yourself. If you want to achieve greatness, you must first conquer your ego.

Step back when you feel like you are using the control!

This might sound like a riddle: How can the thing that makes you great also hold you back? The answer is your ego — yes, it’s a double-edged sword. On one side, it gives you confidence and drive; on the other side, it makes you self-centered and insecure. This inner battle will either make or break your success in any field.

The ego is an insidious beast. It’s the voice that tells you to take credit for your accomplishments and to blame others when things go awry.

It’s the voice that tells you not to trust anyone because they’re all out to get you.

The ego is also your biggest obstacle when it comes to personal growth. The ego blocks you from reaching your potential and finding meaning in life.

But how do we know if we have an ego?

And what are some signs that it might be getting in the way of your own happiness? What can we do about it? Let’s take a look at what science has learned about this tricky part of our personality…

Watch out for the red flag!

Are you happy with your ego? Do you have friends, do you have happy partnerships, people like to be with you? If the answer is NOT, then is your ego.

So, you need a change!

You have to learn how to become a lovely, happy man without ego. The secret is here!

Most of the time, it feels like our egos are working in our favor. They give us confidence, help us stand out from the crowd, and generally make us feel awesome about ourselves. However, as we all know, there are also times when our egos can be rather unhelpful.

When we’re struggling to solve a problem or put ourselves forward for something new at work, for example, our egos often get in the way instead of helping us.

Why does this happen? What is the ego anyway? And how do you overcome its negative effects?

Let's find out...

Take a little quiz!

When you first start on your journey to becoming a more confident and self-assured person, you’ll feel like there are a lot of things holding you back.

You might think that it’s your awkwardness, the fact that you don’t have enough friends or partners, or something else along those lines that’s the problem.

However, after some time and experience, you’ll discover that the biggest obstacle standing in your way is actually your ego.

Don't be afraid to ask for help!

Cheers now:

Irene
